Golf apparel fans have been given tips on belts

Golf fashion fans handed advice on beltsPlayers concerned with their golf apparel will always want to look good in their performance golf shirts and pants.

However, these fixtures alone may not be sufficient in creating a statement out on the fairways and accessories may need to be employed.

Belts are one such item and many have been used to great effect by professionals on this year's PGA Tour.

This trend was recently noted by Khaki Crusader columnist Sean Hotchkiss, who pointed to Luke Donald and Jonathan Byrd as two examples.

He hailed Donald's black nylon belt, claiming it adds "a little edge" to the traditional look favoured by many golfers.

However, Mr Hotckiss urged players not to emulate Rory Sabbatini and pleaded with them to throw away their "outlandish" buckles.

Golf apparel company Glenmuir recently updated its collection with a range of new belts.

Designed to team with existing products in its catalogue, the firm unveiled products in a variety of colours.
