John Daly's choice of golf clothing for the PGA Golf Catalunya has been described as "audacious" by one sector commentator

A professional golfer whose eccentric style has earned him a reputation as being somewhat flamboyant when spending time on the fairway may have taken his golf clothing to a new extreme, it has been suggested.

John Daly was spotted in what was described by CNN as an "audacious" outfit while practicing his putting at the PGA Golf Catalunya yesterday (April 29th).

Sporting a bright orange golf shirt combined with a checked pair of pink, purple, red and orange golf trousers, it was hard to miss the 43-year-old American player, who is currently serving a six month ban from the PGA tour.

Daly was banned from the PGA for half a year in December 2008.

In other golf news, CNN noted the Daly was seen wearing a light beige shirt and black and white striped trousers in his performance on the course today (April 30th).

The news provider said he "cut a wonderful figure", having lost weight in the last few months after undergoing gastric band surgery.
