US 2010 Ryder Cup Team member and current world number one golfer Tiger Woods has been spotted without his name embroidered on the back of his wet-weather golf apparel for the event.Golf fashion blog Chapeau Noir Golf noted that the 34-year-old was seen practicing at Celtic Manor's 2010 course without his name displayed on the back of his golf clothing.
The blog put forward a range of possible reasons for the missing insignia, including the relatively late addition of Woods as a wildcard pick and a potential brand infringement issue by his sponsors.
"Steve Stricker is clearly wearing a short sleeved version at left in [a photo], so that's not the reason." said Chapeau Noir Golf.
Another golf fashion blogger, the Khaki Crusader, was apparently informed by the US team's sponsors that the problem was down to a sizing issue and the player's new jacket would be embroidered in time for the start of Friday's play.
