Woods was seen without an embroidered name on his golf clothingUS 2010 Ryder Cup Team member and current world number one golfer Tiger Woods has been spotted without his name embroidered on the back of his wet-weather golf apparel for the event.

Golf fashion blog Chapeau Noir Golf noted that the 34-year-old was seen practicing at Celtic Manor's 2010 course without his name displayed on the back of his golf clothing.

The blog put forward a range of possible reasons for the missing insignia, including the relatively late addition of Woods as a wildcard pick and a potential brand infringement issue by his sponsors.

"Steve Stricker is clearly wearing a short sleeved version at left in [a photo], so that's not the reason." said Chapeau Noir Golf.

Another golf fashion blogger, the Khaki Crusader, was apparently informed by the US team's sponsors that the problem was down to a sizing issue and the player's new jacket would be embroidered in time for the start of Friday's play.
