The rising number of well-known faces donning golf apparel has led to a rise in its popularity.

Golf fashion items which may be usually seen on the golf course are becoming increasingly popular among young people, it has been claimed.

According to an article on Konruk.net, stars such as Gwen Stefani, Brad Pitt and Samuel L Jackson have all been seen wearing golf clothing - and this exposure in the public eye means that golf fashion is "no longer considered fashion for the untrendy over-fifties".

"In recent years many fashion designers have sought to include elements of golf fashion in their collections as the sport experiences a resurgence of popularity," the source noted.

As well as this, as golf becomes more popular among female players, the world of women's golf fashion has grown.

The website said that that while golf fashion for women has remained mainly traditional in style, some golf apparel items aimed at females are "a lot trendier" than men's styles.

Meanwhile, the Irish Times recently noted that women's golf is currently seeking to "vamp up its image" and went on to point out the use of golfer Maria Verchenova in an advertising campaign for the Turkish Open.
