Golf fashion pundit queries glove usageA golf fashion pundit has issued questions regarding the use of gloves by one player.

Writing on the Chapeaunoir Golf apparel blog, columnist Mike McAllister looked at the golf clothing choices of Tommy 'Two Gloves' Gainey.

He noted that the player recently came back into the limelight following his performance at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Mr McAllister explained that his love of dual gloves stems from his background in baseball, where batters are often equipped with a pair.

However, when asked if the golf apparel gives him an advantage in cold weather, Gainey was sceptical about their benefits.

"I'd have to say it's not really much of an advantage when it gets that cold because everybody - wearing a glove or not, it's still freezing and your hands are feeling kind of numb," he said.

Gainey was on form at the recent Waste Management Open, managing to share the lead for the first two rounds although he was let down by his play in the third and ended up tied for eighth.
