Golf news: Are Daly's trousers pants?
Published: 22 May 2009
John Daly is well known for his outrageous golf apparel and it would appear that his wardrobe has become even more extreme in recent months following his sponsorship with the Californian clothing designer Loudmouth. The company offers a range of lurid golf wear and Daly has yet to wear half of the 22-style range currently being offered by the firm.
Daly has been seen on numerous courses so far this season sporting trousers which are polka dot, striped, check and a cavalcade of other zany designs.
When asked about his inspration for the lurid designs, Scott Woodworth, founder of Loudmouth, told the Times: "Golf pants have always been a fashion joke, but no one knew where to buy the really hideous ones."
Meanwhile, English golfer Ian Poulter recently claimed that his own golf clothing style will no longer be one of the major talking points about his game as he prepares himself for one of the biggest tournaments on the Tour calendar - the US Open.
He told PGATour.com that he now feels the improvement in his short game in recent months could make him one of the top challengers for the title.
