Colin Montgomerie is hoping strong performances in his golf apparel will see him lift the Claret Jug in the Barclays Scottish Open.

Glenmuir golf apparel fan Colin Montgomerie is hopeful he can be successful in the Barclays Scottish Open this year, providing he puts in a good qualifying display today (July 7th).The 48-year-old, who turned professional in 1987, is hoping for a top-five finish at Castle Stuart in order to make the list for the Major.
Montgomerie has not failed to qualify for the Open in 21 years and is keen to preserve the record by playing to the level he knows he is capable of.
He noted: "I don't want to miss the Open. It's the last throw of the dice here so I've got to perform to the best of my ability and see what happens."
And in golf news likely to please Montgomerie's fans, the player stated he is not going to simply make up the numbers at the competition, as he has set his sights on the big prize - the coveted Claret Jug.
