Holiday to Majorca could call for cool golf clothing

Those considering packing up their golf clothing and heading overseas for a golfing break could be interested to learn that a golf course in Majorca is this week celebrating its second birthday.

The Son Gual course is 7,240 yards in length and was designed by Thomas Himmel. It has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the Gual Mallorca Senior Open and players such as Mark James and Ian Woosnam have donned their golf apparel and taken to the fairway.

Commenting on the course, Woosnam said: "It's a bit like Augusta. There are a lot of slopes on the greens. You've got to get the ball on the right side of the hole - if you don't you'll be struggling. Miss it on the wrong side and you're dead."

Before jetting off for a golfing holiday to Majorca, Brits may want to make sure that they have the right type of golf clothing for their break, as items worn on the course at home may prove too warm.
