Golf-apparel clad players teeing off at Menie 'will get reduced fees'
Published: 23 September 2009
People who live near to a new golf course being built in Aberdeenshire could be entitled to cut-price games on the green, it has been reported.According to the Aberdeen Evening Express, the Menie course, which is being built by property mogul Donald Trump, could offer local golfers the chance to pull on their golf clothing and take to the course for "favourable rates".
Speaking to the source, Mr Trump's development director George Sorial said: "It would certainly include people from Balmedie - and possibly more broadly in Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire."
The new golf resort will not be "an enclave for the rich", Mr Sorial insisted.
Plans for the new golf course include a golfing academy, a five-star hotel and hundreds of holiday homes and villas.
Players who don their golf apparel and take to the course could find one of the site's villas or hotel rooms the ideal place to relax after a day's play.
