Paul Casey is hoping his driving can help him succeed when he puts on his golf clothing and tees off in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters.

Paul Casey has made the golf news by suggesting that the difference between success and failure in the Commercialbank Qatar Masters will be his driving performance.

Some of the world's best players put their golf apparel on and teed off at the Doha Golf Club yesterday (January 28th) and the world number nine is currently tied for ninth place after his second round on four-under-par.

Writing in his blog on the eve of the tournament, he said: "Looking at the list of previous winner's, length has always been a common trait."

"I'll need to combine this with accuracy if I want to be near the top of the leader board this week."

He added that the conditions in Qatar are very difficult, with wind being similar to that experienced at an Open Championship and similar rough to that in the US Open.

Casey triumphed in the Middle East last year, winning the Abu Dhabi Championship for the second time.
