Padraig Harrington has made the golf news by announcing changes to his swing.Padraig Harrington has revealed that he made significant changes to his swing during the winter off season, which he hopes can bring him success when he dons his golf clothing and tees off this year.

According to the Irishman, he had a few things he wanted to work out to do with how he was striking the ball and he now feels like he has got to the bottom of it.

"I went down the road of trying to sort it out," he said.

And he explained: "I'm happy with what I've done and I'm going to just play with that."

The world number eight added that he tried a similar approach last season and was uncomfortable with the results, but is feeling more confident that the alterations have benefited him this time around.

Harrington was recently tipped for victory in the Northern Trust Open, which teed off today (February 4th) at the Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, by PGA Tour website expert Mike McAllister.
