The strength of European golf has been spoken of by Martin Kaymer.
Published: 25 February 2011

Martin Kaymer has praised the skills of the European players wearing golf clothing at the WGC Match Play Championship following his tough match against Justin Rose.
The world number two defeated Rose on the second extra hole to progress in the tournament, where he will next meet Hunter Manah, the American Ryder Cup Player.
Kaymer, who has the chance to become World Number One if he finishes first or second in the tournament, is currently behind Lee Westwood and ahead of Graeme McDowell in the world rankings and spoke admirably of the strength of European golf at present.
"It's fantastic news - to have Europeans in the top two was a huge achievement, but to have three now is even better," he stated.
The field at the WGC Match Play Championship is being dominated by younger players, with half of the 16 golfers left in the competition under 22 years of age.
One of the biggest results of the first round was the defeat of Steve Sticker by Matteo Manassero, the youngest person ever to play in a WGC event.
