Golf news: Lauren Taylor collects BBC gong.

Golf clothing wearer Lauren Taylor has been named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year thanks to an impressive 12 months that saw her become the youngest winner of the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship.Taylor - who is now 17 - was victorious at the tournament when aged just 16 and 2011 also saw her show off her golf fashion in the senior Women's British Open and the junior Solheim Cup, where she represented Europe.
In addition, the competitor's ranking in the women's amateur world table shot up to 20th.
She saw off tough competition to collect the BBC gong, with the field including the likes of swimmer Eleanor Simmonds and cyclist Lucy Garner.
Ian Poulter - who turned professional in 1995 and is known for his extravagant golf apparel - was quick to praise Taylor's achievement, stating: "Lauren is a deserving winner of the award and has my full support as she moves forward with her golfing career."
