Paul Lawrie has revealed that he is satisfied with his performance in the first round of the Commercialbank Masters yesterday (January 28th), after donning his golf apparel and shooting a 75.

The score left the Scot three-over-par and writing in his blog, he stated that he thought he played "solidly", as blustery conditions and a triple-bogey on the third hole made scoring low a difficult prospect.

He added that the amount of rough around the greens also left golfers struggling.

When in the rough "it makes it a lottery to get it up and down as all you can do is open the clubface, grip it really tight and give it a whack - no feel or touch required!", he said.

In his second round today, Lawrie managed to shoot a par-for-the-course 72, leaving him on three-over-par going into the third round at the Doha Golf Club.

Australian Brett Rumford currently tops the leaderboard on nine-under-par.
