Golf news: Taylor scoops golfing award.

Canadian golfer Nick Taylor has been given the Mark H McCormack medal, the R&A golf club has announced.In a ceremony at the University of Washington, 22-year-old Taylor was presented with the medal by Steve Sander.
The medal is given to the golfer who is ranked top in the World Amateur Golf list after the end of the European and US Amateur Championships.
In between donning his golf clothing and taking to the course, Taylor is a student at the university.
Taylor's golfing victories include the US Intercollegiate earlier this year, the Oregon Duck Invitational back in March, the Fresno State Golf Classic and a first place finish at the UBC Thunderbird Invitational in October 2006.
He moved to the top of the amateur ranking in June after pulling on his golf clothing and playing in the US Open sectional qualifying event which was held at Tumble Creek in Washington.
