Paul Lawrie is pleased with his recent performances in golf clothing.Paul Lawrie has revealed his end-of-year performances have left him feeling satisfied with his season's efforts.

The Scot sported light blue golf apparel as he finished second in the Dubai World Championship, meaning he ended 18th in the European Tour rankings and now lies in sixth position on the European Ryder Cup points list, BBC reports.

Lawrie explained he worked particularly hard at his game in the close season last winter, noting time may be running out for him having now turned 42.

The 1999 Open winner - who turned professional at the age of 17 - said: "It's nice to be there or thereabouts and have the chance to win tournaments again."

He added: "Any time you have a year like that, you have to be pleased."

The strong display at the Dubai event was the most recent in a string of top performances by Lawrie this season, including high-scoring efforts in Andalucia, Barcelona and Mallorca.
