Golf news: Woods pulls out of own golf charity eventTiger Woods has announced he will not be donning his golf clothing and taking part in the upcoming Chevron World Challenge, after being injured in a car accident earlier this week.

The world number one was involved in an accident near his home in Florida on Friday (November 27th) and suffered facial injuries as a result.

Now, he has announced he will not be taking part in the Chevron World Challenge, a charity event which raises money for his own golf foundation and which he has hosted for the past nine years.

"I am extremely disappointed that I will not be at my tournament this week. I am certain it will be an outstanding event and I'm very sorry that I can't be there," said the golfer.

President and chief executive of the Tiger Woods Foundation Greg McLaughlin said that the group supported his decision.

Woods has also said that he will not be taking part in any other golf events until next year.
