Some of the top players in the world are ready to don their golf clothing and tee off in this year's Commercialbank Qatar Masters.

Some of the best golfers on the planet are set to put on their golf clothing and fight for the chance to win the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, which is taking place from Thursday (January 28th).

In the field are seven of the top 14 players in the official world rankings, including Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Ian Poulter.

Furthermore, Martin Kaymer, who triumphed in the Abu Dhabi Championship on Sunday, will also be taking part.

Commenting on Kaymer's inclusion in the event, Hassan al-Nuami, president of the Qatar Golf Association, organisers of the tournament, said: "I think it's fair to say he will be among the favourites."

"I think when it comes to European golf, the future is in safe hands with players like Martin around," he added.

Winner of last year's championship was Spaniard Alvaro Quiros, while other previous victors are Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Henrik Stenson and Adam Scott.
