Golfer's on course apparel noted in article.Golf player Phil Mickelson has won a game with a shot that could not have been attempted by mere mortals, it has been reported.

Writing for the LA Times, Bill Dwyre comments that the Riviera's Northern Trust Open was won by Mickelson after a putt which was "deemed to represent much drama by those who do not believe in the possibility of rabbits being pulled out of hats".

Mr Dwyre quips that the tournament was won by Harry Houdini, dressed in items of golf apparel which made him look like Mickelson.

The sports writer makes it clear how difficult the winning shot was.

"These are moments that define athletes, create their legends. They are also moments that most of them face with as much dread as relish," he comments.

The UK has been hit by a cold snap recently, but as the weather warms in the approach to Spring, golfers could be wise to re-think their golf apparel.

Golf jumpers could now be too warm and players may want to consider a change of golf fashion.

Phil Mickelson is currently ranked as the third best player in the world.
