Published: 05 August 2009
Female golfer Juli Inkster has spoken of the passion she still has for the game and which tournaments she is looking to play in the future.Writing for the Associated Press, Doug Ferguson notes that ten years ago, Inkster won the US Open, commenting after that her career goal was to play in the Solheim Cup in 2000.
Now, Inkster is finally achieving that goal again - but when she dons her golf apparel and takes to the course in the tournament, she will be the oldest player to have ever competed in the Solheim Cup.
While many golfers may be noted for their interesting taste in golf fashion, often sporting brightly-coloured golf apparel and accessories, Mr Ferguson comments that Inkster is known for her "many awful dance celebrations" when she wins a tournament.
Meanwhile, the 2009 European Solheim Cup Team has recently been announced, which is chosen depending on the Ladies European Tour points standings.
The top five players are automatically chosen for the team.
