Golfers pledges to outplay rivalIrish golfer Rory McIlroy has said he plans to try and overshadow other golfers on the course by playing good golf, instead of wearing loud pieces of golf clothing, it has been reported.

According to the Mirror, McIlroy has stated he will try and take the attention off his partner at the British Open, Anthony Kim, by playing stunning golf.

The newspaper notes that at the Scottish Open last week, McIlroy, "grabbed attention" by wearing a "snazzy tartan" pair of golf trousers.

Speaking to the news source, the golfer said that he and partner Anthony Kim get on well.

"We played three rounds together at the Masters and two rounds together at the US Open. I really enjoyed playing with him and we are quite quick as well and feed off each other's rhythm," McIlroy enthused.

He also told the New York Times that he is hoping to keep a low-profile at the British Open this weekend.
