2016 Olympics to feature golf clothing-clad players?Golfers could yet be showing off their best golf clothing in the 2016 Olympics, as the date approaches for the final go-ahead for the game to be included in the tournament.

After the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted to make golf an Olympic sport at the event, along with rugby, the recommendation needs to be approved by the IOC Congress this Friday (October 9th) at a meeting in Denmark.

Golfers Padraig Harrington and Michelle Wie are among those who are to attend to try and up the chances of golf being taken through to the 2016 event.

Some in the Olympic world have raised concerns about the potential difficulties of creating golf courses in Asia and Africa.

However, chief executive of the R&A Peter Dawson pointed out that worldwide, golf is played by more than 60 million people and there are members of the International Golf Federation in 120 countries around the globe.

This could see millions tune in to watch golfers don their golf apparel and take to the Olympic course.
