Graeme McDowell has become the latest player to think pink when it comes to golf fashion. The Ulsterman wore a pink polo shirt as he became the first European to lift the 2010 US Open trophy in 40 years yesterday (June 20th 2010).
He finished one shot ahead of Frenchman Gregory Havret, with Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson also in the hunt at Pebble Beach.
McDowell said winning the tournament was an "absolute dream come true", adding that it was a surreal moment to finally lift the trophy.
"Two putts to win the US Open. I can't explain how I feel right now - it's amazing," he remarked.
The 30-year-old was not the only player who wore pink golf apparel on the links during the tournament.
English star Ian Poulter teamed his pink sweater with matching trousers and visor during the opening round.
As a result, he was described as "golf's most fashion-conscious player" by the Sun.
