The US Open qualifyer wore striped golf apparelWalton Heath witnessed a stunning round of golf by James Morrison, with the English youngster opting for striped golf apparel on the day that he qualified for the US Open.

He let his golf do the talking at the American course, but looked stylish at the same time, sporting a purple performance golf shirt with a dark collar and thin, horizontal white stripes on it.

The 25-year-old kept the sun out of his eyes with a white cap to score 65 and secure his place in the US Open, with fellow Brit and recent PGA BMW Championship winner Simon Khan unable to match this performance.

Morrison remarked afterwards: "It's been a bit unexpected, but I'm learning and growing in confidence all the time. I'm starting to feel much more comfortable out here now and that shows in my results."

The Chertsey-born golfer won the Madeira Island Open earlier this year and commented that he is looking forward to getting into his golf apparel for the prestigious US Open.
