John Daly may well have the most flamboyant golf fashion sense at The Open, but he showed that he is also a great player.

American player John Daly did not disappoint fans of outrageous golf fashion, as he stepped out on the first day of The Open in a pair of bizarre trousers. While the rest of his outfit was fairly neutral - a pink performance golf shirt and pale blue men's knitwear - he appeared to have put all his flamboyance into his golf trousers.
The slacks incorporated purple, green and yellow among other colours into a psychedelic mixture of shapes that must have surprised and entertained the crowds at the St Andrews event.
Despite his unusual golf fashion sense, Daly took a share of the early clubhouse lead on 66 and will be in contention to win part of the £4.8 million prize pot.
After the round, he commented: "This is only the seventh or eighth tournament I've been healthy to play in the last three years and I'm starting to get some confidence back in my game."
