Paul Lawrie has signed a new golf apparel sponsorship deal.Scottish golfer Paul Lawrie has put extra emphasis on his golf fashion after signing a new sponsorship deal with Pentagon Freight Services.

The golf apparel agreement will require the 1999 Open Championship winner to wear the firm's logo on his headwear for the rest of the year and was chosen by the company as the ideal partner because he competes in "key" markets such as Europe, Asia and the United Arab Emirates.

Commenting on the announcement, chief executive officer of the business - service provider to the marine, gas and oil sectors - Geoff Smith stated: "Our prestigious association with Paul demonstrates that Pentagon is now a global brand recognised the world over."

Writing in his blog, Lawrie added: "I am very much looking forward to working with Pentagon and their staff and customers."

The Scotsman also revealed in his website entry that a sponsorship deal has been agreed before his Paul Lawrie Foundation - offering children the chance to get involved in golf - and Footstars, which runs classes for kids aged between three and five.
