Are golfers asking for trouble by donning golf fashion which is loud and eye-catching?
Published: 20 July 2009
Golfers who take to the course in bright clothes could be attracting more attention than they might want to, one golfer comments.Writing for the Scotsman, Ian Wood says he has often wondered about the bravery of those professional players who take to the golf course in outrageous golf clothing.
He notes that in the "merciless sport" of golf, players may be wise to keep loud golf clothing to a minimum to maintain a low profile.
Mr Wood goes on to note that he usually chooses golf clothing which is plain.
"It is my experience that whenever I don a pair of trousers which are of any other colour apart from black, something terrible happens to them," he quips.
He calls golfers John Daly and Ian Poulter the "most extravagantly garbed" players at the recent British Open, but also jokes that due to the patterns often seen on their golf apparel, stains and marks are likely to be hidden.
Both golfers have their own lines of golf apparel, which showcase their eye-catching golf fashion tastes.
