Shane Lowry had a tough professional debut at the European Open.

Shane Lowry had a baptism of fire yesterday (May 28th) on his professional debut as a golfer at the European Open. The 22-year-old Irishman finished the day at six-over-par 78 on his first ever round as a professional player at the London Club in Kent.
This follows his recent decision to turn professional after reaching number six in the world amateur rankings following victory at the Irish Open on the European Tour.
Speaking to reporters, Lowry said he felt a "bit flat" while making his debut and also pointed out that he was "glad to have it over".
"It's the first day of many, hopefully, and there will be good days and bad days," he said.
"I just got off to a bad start, four over after six, and didn't feel myself to be honest. I knew it was going to be tough; it's not an easy course by any means."
Denmark's Anders Hansen was the early leader at the tournament after scoring a late eagle to finish at seven under par 65.
