A dark blue and red golf shirt was worn by Luke Donald as the world number one made history.

Luke Donald wore dark golf clothing as he made history by becoming the first player to scoop both the European and US money lists in one year.

The Englishman sported a blue and red golf shirt, teamed with white trousers as he finished third at the Dubai World Championship.

Having needed a top-nine finish to complete the feat, the competitor shot a 66 for a 16-under total, meaning he secured his achievement with a degree of comfort.

Rory McIlroy could have pipped Donald to the money list had he won the Dubai event, but finished ten shots off the lead with a score of 71.

Donald, who is also the current world number one, said he still has a lot to achieve in the game, despite his recent successes.

The 34-year-old - who turned professional in 2001 - stated: "The beauty of this game is that you are always looking for ways to improve."
