There were no debut jitters for German player Marcel Siem, as he scored 67 on the first day of The Open in stylish golf clothing.

The Open debutant Marcel Siem showed that he has great ability and a good eye for stylish golf clothing on the first day of the tournament.Sporting grey chequered golf trousers and a lovely men's knitwear jumper, the German looked calm and composed as he hit a round 67 - five under par for the Old Course at St Andrews.
Siem explained that the wind is a major factor when playing at The Open and suggested the course was "unplayable" the previous day.
One possible outcome of such windy conditions is that the crowds are likely to see plenty of different golf waterproofs and lined sweaters during the course of the tournament.
"You know, St Andrews is not the toughest course in the world if there's no wind, so I think three under is an average round. The pins were pretty accessible," added Siem.
The leader of The Open after the first round was young Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy, with a nine-under-par 63.
