An iconic shot was hit by Miguel Angel Jimenez over the weekend, while the player was wearing typically bold golf apparel.

Despite not finishing at the top of the leaderboard, Miguel Angel Jimenez will have scored plenty of points with the crowd thanks to his playing style and golf fashion sense.

His yellow men's knitwear jumper may not have been too garish on its own, but when combined with a pair of mustard golf trousers, it made for a dazzling ensemble.

But bold golf apparel is not the only thing in Jimenez's locker, he is also a top player, as he proved at The Open over the weekend, when tackling the ever-tricky 'road hole'.

The veteran saw that his ball had landed up against the wall, so he turned his back on the hole and bounced it off the stone structure and onto the green behind him, causing the crowd to go wild for his audacity and skill.

Yahoo! Sports described it as one of the greatest shots of the year and suggested the Spaniard had "added an iconic golf shot to the sport's history".
