The five star resort will be built next to Rutherford Castle Golf Club near West Linton and will feature 150 hotel rooms, a leisure club, restaurant and a conference centre.

As the winter weather grows colder, those planning on visiting the new resort this time next year might want to invest in a golf sweater or argyle jumper to take the chill off when out on the course.

Councillor Vicky Davidson said that the new golf resort was "exactly the kind of investment" needed at this time.
