Golfers take to the course for a festive eventMembers of a local golf club who took part in a "cross-country" golf tournament could have found a golf sweater the ideal thing to keep them warm while teeing off.

Players from Bognor Golf Club ran their annual cross country golf games over the festive period, reports the Chichester Observer.

Fun-loving members of the club also dressed up in Santa costumes during the event.

More often seen items of golf apparel on the course include golf hats or argyle sweaters.

This event saw 22 teams from the club take part in a Texas scramble.

This unusual way of playing saw two or three holes joined together, making it harder for players to score points.

In related news, a housing association recently raised £2,500 for good causes by hosting a charity golf tournament.

Monkland Habit for Humanity hosted the Clyde Valley Cup at the Airdrie Easter Moffat Golf Club, reports the Airdrie and Coatbridge Advertiser.
