Long - Paul Lawrie has lamented his recent performance.
Published: 25 May 2011
Glenmuir-sponsored player Paul Lawrie has spoken about his recent efforts at the Volvo World Match Play Championship.Writing on his blog, the Scottish golfer recounted how he took to the fairways in his golf clothing to battle Ian Poulter.
He lamented his performance during the match, which saw him come out "all square" with his Hertfordshire counterpart.
"I played poorly on the front nine and was two down then hit it much better on the back nine and probably should have won but I am sure Ian will also be saying that" Lawrie said.
However, this was not the end of the troubles for the Glenmuir-sponsored player, who lost out to Francesco Molinari later in the day.
Lawrie conceded that he made a lot of mistakes during the event and claimed the result was "fair enough".
Ian Poulter is well-known for his garish golf apparel and has been seen in gaudy items, such as a golf sweater adorned with a massive union jack.
