Tickets to the upcoming European Tour event the BMW PGA Championship could be an ideal present for a golf loving friend or relative this Christmas, it has been noted.

The European Tour website said that with the festive season so close "what better gift" could there be for golf lovers than to head to the flagship event on the tour calendar.

As well as being a prestigious event to attend, the source noted that "the extensive renovation of the West Course will be complete by the time many of the world's best players grace the Surrey venue, promising to heighten the tension and drama like never before".

Among the golf course renovations was the addition of a new ditch on the last hole.

Friends and relatives of golf lovers may find that getting the tickets as a golf gift is best done before the middle of this month, as there are discounts of as much as 25 per cent on tickets purchased before December 18th, noted the source.
