Pundit praises the golf fashion of Ryan Moore
Published: 01 March 2011
A pundit has praised the golf fashion of PGA Tour player Ryan Moore.Writing for the Arizona Star, columnist Patrick Finley hailed Moore's recent performance in events but made particular mention of his golf clothing.
"Moore dresses like a throwback, part hipster and sepia-toned golfer," he said.
Mr Finley went on to note that last week, the 28-year-old wore a button-down sweater-vest.
He teamed this item of golf apparel with a short-sleeve shirt and necktie, which has become a renowned fixture of his wardrobe.
Mr Finley recounted Moore's early career, where he played without a sponsor "in the name of simplicity and focus".
This decision enabled him to escape the "pressure to perform", in addition to allowing him free choice over his golf clothing, which Mr Finley called "a statement in itself".
Moore was recently described as a "style barometer" by Khaki Crusader columnist Sean Hotchkiss, who noted the increasing take-up of coloured gloves among PGA Tour players.
