Ricardo Gonzalez's bold red golf apparel could be appearing on the winners podium if the Argentine manages to keep his form up.
Published: 29 April 2010
It seemed fitting that Ricardo Gonzalez should be wearing red golf apparel as he took the lead at the Open de España, since it is often the colour of Spain's shirts in sporting events.Englishman Paul Waring had been leading the event, but the Argentine player overtook him on the final hole in his white cap, navy golf trousers and red shirt ensemble.
The South American kept his cool in the short-sleeved top to score 65 for the day, leaving him seven under par and one shot ahead of Waring.
It remains to be seen whether Gonzalez can hang on to the lead, but he is likely to continue to need lightweight performance golf shirts at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, since the weather is set to be bright and warm tomorrow (April 30th).
Behind the Argentine player and Waring, who scored and eagle and six birdies during the day, Rafa Echineque managed to card four under to take third place.
