Richard Green keeps his golf apparel simple in IrelandAustralian player Richard Green wore a relatively simple combination of golf clothing at the 3 Irish Open and ended his first round in the lead.

He teamed dark golf trousers with a plain blue performance golf shirt and came out smiling at the end, as he managed a six-under-par score of 65.

With regard to his golf accessories, Green chose a white glove and cap and a dark belt.

The Australian pointed out that he is not one of the biggest hitters on the European Tour, but that the Killarney Golf & Fishing Club course felt like the layouts he grew up playing on, which suit his style better.

"I thought this is a nice old golf course for a change that's a little bit old school. I felt very comfortable out there. I played very nicely today," he was quoted as saying.

Later on in the day, David Howell managed to push past Green to the top of the leaderboard, leaving the Aussie tied in second place with Robert Rock and Danny Lee.
