Ricky Fowler earns WGC placeRickie Fowler, a player well known for his outlandish golf apparel, has earned a place in the World Golf Championship-Bridgestone Invitational.

Following a month which saw Fowler sporting a bright orange golf shirt coupled with matching golf trousers at the British Open, the golfing prodigy has secured a place in the event by ranking in the top 50 players worldwide.

This is the first WGC event for PGA Tour newcomer Fowler, who is currently the highest-ranked rookie in the FedExCup standings.

Fowler is known throughout the game for his unique hairstyle and dazzling wardrobe, but pundits can only guess what garish golf fashion he will be sporting at the upcoming event this week.

During last month's British Open, Fowler wore a range of colourful golf clothing. Some of the highlights included Thursday's pink golf shirt and checked golf trousers and Friday's white-and-blue golf fashion combination.

Fowler's invite comes after a week which saw him announce that playing in the Ryder Cup was one of his "main goals".
