American golfer and 2010 US Ryder Cup team member Rickie Fowler should not be underestimated, despite his "obnoxious" golf apparel, one pundit has claimed.Writing in a Bettor blog, Carlos Rome stated that, although the young player's golf fashion sense could "lead you to loathing", he should not be belittled.
"The 150 pound kid in no way can be underappreciated, overlooked or underestimated if you aren't distracted by his extremely vibrant clothing," said Mr Rome.
Best known for his unique golf fashion choices, Fowler's sporting career started in motocross at a very young age. After turning to golf at the age of 14, Fowler has had a successful career, marked by the speed at which he acquired his PGA Tour card.
Mr Rome went on to defend US Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin's wildcard picks, claiming they brought together "a team that has youth and experience", which will be well suited to handle the pressure of the event.
