Players and spectators donning their golf apparel for the 2010 Ryder Cup have received a boost after the unveiling of a new bridge at the tournament's host venue, the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, Wales. The 120-metre twin-suspension structure will provide an improved link to the training ground for golfers and fans alike, as well as a huge television compound on the Caerleon side of the River Usk.
Speaking at the official unveiling of the bridge, chairman of the Celtic Manor Resort Sir Terry Matthews said that the project was the final major construction job in a £16 million investment programme spanning the whole site.
"This bridge to the new practice ground is an important part of that commitment to provide the best possible playing conditions for the top golfers from Europe and America," he added.
Spectators going to watch the event - taking place from October 1st to 3rd - who want to be dressed in the top golf fashion might want to buy a Ryder Cup shirt from Glenmuir, the European Ryder Cup supplier.
