Golf apparel including Ryder Cup shirts may be responsible for Colin Montgomerie becoming distracted from his game in 2009.

His involvement in selecting Ryder Cup shirts for the upcoming tournament may have affected Colin Montgomerie's game this year, the golfing star claims. In a blog post on his official website, Monty explains that 2009 has marked his worst year of performance in two decades.
This may be in part due to his responsibility for choosing Ryder Cup shirts and other garments of golf apparel for use in the next staging of the event.
"One reason for my form has been the Ryder Cup - there has been a lot to think about off the course; uniforms, equipment, etc," he writes.
However, he takes a moment to thank his fans for their support and looks ahead to a more successful period with the golf apparel all now selected.
"Now that has all been taken care of I can concentrate on my own golf," the star predicts.
Montgomerie previously revealed that he was "thrilled" to be presented with a lifetime achievement award in Glasgow as part of the Sunday Mail Sports Awards.
