Stuart Appleby showed off his keen golf fashion style while making historyAustralia's Stuart Appleby made history in style at the Greenbrier Classic, showing off one of his many fashionable golf shirts and shooting a 59.

The first non-American to shoot a 59 at a PGA Tour event, Appleby looked slick in his purple golf shirt complemented with dark golf trousers.

To make sure the sun did not interfere with his stunning round, he sported a snazzy golf visor.

Coming less than a month after Paul Goydos carded a 59 at the John Deere Classic, Appleby's magnificent round makes him one of only five players to achieve the feat in the history of the sport.

From seven shots behind, the Australian golfer stormed past America's Jeff Overton by holing nine birdies and an eagle at the 12th.

Appleby said the win was "phenomenal" and claimed he was in disbelief at the score.

He said: "We spend so much time trying to have rounds like today. And when you do and they drop, it's a pleasant feeling."

The 40-year-old started his professional career in 1992, winning twice on the Nike Tour and bagging wins at nine PGA Tour events.
