A student golf tournament in the US saw players taking to the course in some interesting items of golf fashion, it has been reported.

Writing for the student newspaper of the College of William and Mary, the Flat Hat, Jack Lambert comments on the wacky golf fashions seen at the school's campus tournament.

According to the source, player Jeff Dooley wore bright red shorts and a checked golf shirt.

He accessorised his golf fashion with a headband.

Fellow gamer Miles Hilder teed off in an argyle sweater and khaki trousers, the source notes.

The golfer played eight holes at the Sunken Garden on the campus of the college, which is in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Many pro golfers are noted for their outrageous style when they take to the course.

Waggle Room recently reported that players such as Anthony Kim, Camilo Villegas, and Ian Poulter "push the envelope" when it comes to on-course golf apparel.
