A teenage player from Ireland is making golf news by potentially qualifying for next year's Masters tournament in the US.

A teen Irish golfer could be the next Tiger Woods if he keeps his current position and earns a place in the US Masters. While Rory McIllroy is likely to be sponsored to wear golf apparel from certain brands should his success continue, amateur golfers wanting to look sharp on the course during chilly months could find a golf sweater a good buy.
If 19-year-old McIllroy can stay within the top 50 world golf rankings, he will qualify for the Masters, due to take place in April.
McIllroy will take part in the South African Open this weekend to try and retain his top 50 spot.
However, he faces tough competition for the place.
Ernie Els, currently ranked ninth in the world, has said that he and fellow South African golfers are keen for the trophy to be lifted by a native player.
McIllroy will be hoping to not repeat the losses he suffered at the Omega European Masters and the Hong Kong Open this year.
