Golf news: Tiger Woods is fighting fit.

Tiger Woods will be looking forward to perform well in his golf clothing this year after claiming he is currently fitter than he has been for around a decade.

The former world number one will be getting his new season underway as he takes to the course in golf apparel at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship this week.

Woods - who turned professional in 1996 - has overcome knee problems that have dogged him of late and claimed it has been a few years since he has felt as well as he does now.

The current world number 25 stated: "I'm looking forward to getting out there and then playing and give it a full season, which I haven't done in a while, so I'm really looking forward to it."

Woods added he has not felt 100 per cent for almost 12 years, with operations in 2002 and 2008 taking their toll on his body.
