Walker Cup squad to feature two Scottish playersThe latest Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup squad has been announced, with two Scottish players making the final cut.

Wallace Booth and Gavin Dear will join seven English players when they don their golf clothing and tee off with the squad.

Both Scots were part of Scotland's winning teams in the World Championships in Australia last year.

The seven English golfers are Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Haines, Stiggy Hodgson, Sam Hutsby, Chris Paisley, Dale Whitnell and Luke Goddard.

Goddard was recently victorious in the English Amateur Championship, which took place on Saturday (August 1st).

Fleetwood and Hutsby were the two runners-up at the tournament.

The last player to make up the ten-strong squad is Irishman Niall Kearney.

Kearney has had a successful time recently, having donned his golf apparel and going on to win the Brabazon Trophy in May of this year.

In total, there were 28 golfers up for consideration for the squad, with it taking from February until now to decide which ten players are to put on their golf shoes and take to the course.
