Lee Westwood could benefit from wearing light golf clothing this week as he prepares to compete in the World Golf Championships (WGC)-Accenture Match Play Championships.Regularly seen in a golf sweater when playing at home in the UK, the world number four will have to deal with the Arizona heat when he tees off today (February 17th) at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and may find a performance golf shirt makes it easier to play in.
Commenting ahead of the tournament, he said that he is keen to improve his record in the event - he has previously failed to get past the second round in nine attempts.
"I think it's worth being here because obviously it's a prestigious title, there's plenty of world ranking points and we don't get to play much match play," he added.
Westwood will be hoping he can carry his good form from last year into 2010.
He topped the European Tour Order of Merit in 2009 after winning in the Dubai World Championship, Portugal Masters and finishing in the top ten in a number of other tournaments.
