Golf news: World's longest golf course opensThe longest golf course in the world - which opened this week - covers two Australian states and requires those who tackle the 18-hole challenge to drive hundreds of kilometres, it has been revealed.

Nullarbor Links, which stretches from Ceduna in South Australia to the mining town of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia, is almost 850-miles long.

Before tackling the course, golfers may want to check that their golf fashion wardrobe contains items up to the challenge of travelling hundreds of miles in the Australian heat.

Golf shirts made from breathable fabric could prove to be a good buy, as could golf accessories such as sun visors, to shield players' eyes from the glare of the Australian sun.

Commenting on the new golf course, the Telegraph said: "The holes themselves are in some rather strange locations - some lie beside a long, featureless highway, some are positioned near petrol stations and motels while others rest close to inhabited wombat holes."
