Damien McGrane's golf apparel during the Estoril Open de Portugal matched the local weather by being summery and breezy.

Irish player Damien McGrane enjoyed a shared lead at the end of the first day of the Estoril Open de Portugal, wearing a very summery performance golf shirt. He equalled Englishman Luke Goddard's score of 64 at the Penha Longa course, sporting brown golf trousers and a bright yellow shirt, with a white cap to keep out the strong Portuguese sun from his eyes.
McGrane and Goddard overtook Norwegian Eirik Tage Johansen, who had been ahead of the pack and made a daring golf fashion statement by playing in a pair of electric blue plaid golf trousers.
The Irishman remarked afterwards: "It's all about hitting fairways and greens out there and giving yourself opportunities, which is what I did."
He was happy with his performance and suggested he never looked like dropping a shot throughout the day, which means a "good day's work" for him.
The leaders are now one shot ahead of Johansen and Welshmn Stuart Manley, who are both on seven under par.
